Production Policies

1. Sandusky State Theatre is a non-smoking campus, therefore smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.

2. Standard evening curtain time is 8 pm. Standard matinee curtain time is 3 pm. Doors open an hour prior to evening and matinee curtain times.

3. Organizations renting the facilities should meet with the Technical Director at least five-six weeks prior to the event or performance to discuss your needs and our capabilities.

4. Final equipment and personnel requests must be confirmed with the Technical Director 3 weeks prior to the event/performance.

5. User must provide proof of right(s) to perform copyrighted material(s) before a license to use the Sandusky State Theatre will be executed.

6. All stage equipment, lighting, sound, audio visual, orchestra lift, fly lines, etc. are to be operated by Sandusky State Theatre AUTHORIZED TECHNICIANS ONLY.

7. In most cases, minimal technical staff personnel includes: One technical director and two technicians (one to operate the lights, the other to assist backstage). If sound is required, a third technician may be required. Additional technicians may be added, depending upon the complexity of set-up/strike and the actual performance/event.

8. All scenery/supplies and equipment provided by the user must meet safety standards of the Sandusky State Theatre as designated by the Technical Director. Anything deemed unsafe cannot be used. Flameproof Certificates must be available upon request.

9. Members of the audience are not allowed on stage or backstage, before, during or after the performance/event.

10. All house staff, ticket staff and seating arrangements are furnished and managed by the Sandusky State Theatre.

11. Nothing can be sold in the lobby without the express permission of the Sandusky State Theatre. If permission is granted, the user will pay the Sandusky State Theatre an agreed commission of the gross sales.

12. Photography, audio or video recording is not permitted without the express permission of the Sandusky State Theatre Technical Director.
