The City of Sandusky has changed dramatically since 1928 from a small town atmosphere to a year-round resort town.
In keeping with that change, The Sandusky State Theatre is ready to showcase our fine city with performances and programs that will delight audiences of all ages and generate income for the entire community.
Take part in the magic by becoming a patron of the Sandusky State Theatre.
This year, The Sandusky State Theatre is proud to be celebrating 84 years of providing quality entertainment for Erie County and its surrounding cities. In celebration of this milestone and to prepare for a successful future, we are asking at this time for your support.
With the cost of maintaining the beautiful, historic Sandusky State Theatre builidng and the rising costs of utilities and supplies, ticket sales alone do not cover the $500,000 needed annually to successfully operate the theatre.
With your support The Sandusky State Theatre will be able to continue to grow and provide a wide-variety of exciting, high-quality entertainment year round.
The broad range of programs that we offer continues to meet the diverse interests of our community. Some of the highlights of the 2012 - 2013 season will be:Vince Gill Live in Concert!, Disney's "Jungle Book Kids", "Godspell Jr.", "Always Patsy Cline", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Angelina Ballerina", & "Honky Tonk Angels", just to name a few.. We are exicted to be offering summer theatre workshops, once again, for kids ages 7 - 17 with live productions on stage at the end of the workshops. "Jazz @ Eight" have become a very popular jazz series offered once a month. Movies are back by popular demand - first run movies can be viewed on the "big screen". Amerikids Show Choir made it debut in 2011 and will be back again this year with a brand new revue.
During the 2011 - 2012 season our stage was graced with such favorites as: "The Glenn Miller Orchestra", "The Amazing Kreskin", comedian favorites such as Ralphie May and Rodney Carrington, and broadway productions of "Cats", and "Fiddler on the Roof". Island favorite Pat Dailey was the featured artist during Islands Days in downtown Sandusky the beginning of January.
Dinner Theatre is was a huge hit during our 2011 season and will continue once again this season. Click on Season Shows to see all that The Sandusky State Theatre has to offer this season.
